Nodafunk

Nodafunk

Music has always been a big part of my life. Started playing the drums at a young age!! I got involved in electronic music shortly after. I started going to raves when I was 13-14 and soon decided to take up djing. I started djing when I was 15, dabbling with every genre from trance to drum and bass!! It didn't take long for me to find my groove with the house. House just came natural for me!! Soon after I landed my first gig at the age of 16, and things just got busier from there!! Some influences in my career have been Donald Glaude, Bad Boy Bill, Josh The Funky 1 and the people around me that helped me strive to make the best of my skill. I think influences are the most important because that's where you decide what talent is. In away I've took what I thought to be the most talented, and tried to create my own style working on what I thought was the best of everyones style!! I do believe that being natural with how you do music is key when it comes to creating your style though!! You can't force it!! I would say as far as djing goes I'm known for my energy (hoping around like a little kid), programming, crowd participation, cuts and scratches. Nodafunk' style is funky electro house.

Sablazo

Sablazo

Playing alongside acts such as Wu-Tang, Bassnectar and Parliment, Sablazo's mixing style ranges about as far and wide as his musical background. From a young age, Sablazo always had a taste for music. His very first instrument was a Casio keyboard with a built in sampler, which he would use to sample his voice and manipulate. At the age of seven, he began playing the violin, and continued to play for several years in fiddle contests. Soon after, he got an electric violin, right around the same time he began to notice Hip Hop and Electronic Music. In this period of time he started to produce beats and rhyme, with a simple beat machine, live instruments and a four track. Beatboxing, Rhyming and Graffiti were main influences when Sablazo got his first pair of turntables. Inheriting his Father's Rock and Roll and Jazz collection, he started mixing with a taste for the unusual. A natural love for Electronic Music lead Sablazo to pursue House, Drum and Bass, Techno, Breakbeats, and Downtempo, eventually becoming known for playing underground parties throughout Northern New Mexico. His sound is influenced by both cultural roots and traditional music, and the pioneering of the digital era; continuingly evolving and changing, always unique. A talented Producer, DJ, MC and live musician, Sablazo's mixes and production vary from ghetto, glitchy Funk to hard Funkybreaks, from original Roots and Dubstep to underground Hip Hop. The upcoming album will be an eclectic mix of varying styles, all original beats from dreamy Downtempo and Dub to grimy Glitch, Breaks and Hip Hop. Live instrumentation accompanying intuitive programming lead to Sablazo's magic musical touch. As a live act, Sablazo has been known to get the crowd to a near frenzy; bringing it proper every time.

Equitant

Equitant

Best known for his guitar/bass executions in the extreme metal trio Absu, Equitant has been performing synthesizer-based music since 1993. That same year, he released his debut ambient release "The Circle of Agurak" followed up by the sophomore offering "The Great Lands of Minas Ithil". At the end of 1994, Equitant ceased his solo calling to fully concentrate on mythological occult metal, that being of Absu. Five years later, he would pick up where he left off with 1999's "Exhibit One", significantly altering his musical style to explore a new phase of dark electronic techno. 2001 brought forth two, futuristic-based albums "Design" and "North of Munich", which were both issued on Equitant's label Black Montanas Productions. These two releases represented a modern, yet cold mechanical direction of electronic music, with traces of techno and dance elements. Equitant spawned a new approach of sound organization with the release of 2002's "Zurich". Together with the French Canadian singer Erica Falardeau, they brought forth an abstract mix of new sounds. By concocting abnormal forms of techno, electro and industrial music, "Zurich" shifted the formats of Equitant's music once again. With the release of the "Kompressor" promotional CD in 2003, Equitant's techniques delved deeper into a state of electro and retro sound-scapes. The use of vocoders and synthetic drums were now dominant, including a combination of minimal synthesizers and sampling influenced by past and present German electro. With the release of "Zeit" on Tarot Productions in 2005, Equitant's style fused a cold delivery of electro, ebm and dark retro music to unveil a futuristic simulation for all the masses. Zeit, which is known to the Germans as "time", displays sounds built over minimal synthetic beats, merging powerful synthesizers lines and ambience. Zeit, recorded from 2002 to 2005, will unleash a new "time" for Equitant's ever-changing sound approach. Inventive and mechanical: Equitant will take you to a time forgotten and a time to come. After the lucrative release of "Zeit", Equitant returns with his newest album of minimal, dark electro: "Konstruckteur". Fallowing in the shadows of past and present German electro artists, Equitant leads the listener to an imminent age of time a future, dream and illusion. From the ambient and experimental track "The Winds of Phobos" to the dexterous pulse of "Last Night in My Body", Konstruckteur is an album of electronic integrity. Inventive and mechanical: Equitant "konstruckts" the world of abstract electro. Equitant's remixing abilities have surfaced in 2006, creating memorable remixes for many artists such as: Electroflex, Fake Fur, Starchaser Network, The Dealers, Giving For The Call, Maxx Klaxon, Lethargy, Stamba, Leggo, Plastic Machine, Nexus 6, TK8, Scorpio, Kitsch, Nadia Sohaei, Elite!, Jonathann Cast, Other Aspect, Sindrome, Miss Duckin', Reizstrom and Millimetric. 2007 brought the resurrection of Equitant's label "Black Montanas". A digital net label helping to provide worldwide digital distribution and representation for independent artists of an Electro, Techno, EBM and Experimental variety. Artists include: Equitant, Starchaser Network, Adolf Filter, Scorpio, Future, Dr. Siak, Uniflux, Crotaphytus, Raw Mechanics, Franck Kartell, Katelectro, The Breakwaters, Other Aspect, Jauzas the Shining, Jonathann Cast, Dr. Lovelock, Elite!, Zhark, Model For Memory, Svart1, X-In, Wave Tank, Moon Disco, Electroberlin, Crossover, Millimetric, Miss Dickin', Galaxian, Korporation, Mysterium, Valerio Orlandini, Tesla Monophonic, Eldar and Trifid Nebula. 2007 and 2008 brought forth several new releases by Equitant, including "Re-Konstrucktion" (Equitant remixed by Ruben Montesco, Raul Parra, Dr. Siak, DJ Slinky, Mahura, Dj Pisces, Dj Jakub, Bubbledoor, Lethargy, Dr.Wundt and Leggo) "Hauptstadt EP", "Live At The Mandalay" , "Equitant Remixes 2003-2007", "Elemente Remixes" (Equitant remixed by Espion, Codename Guard, Leggo, Lethargy, Bubbledoor, Mahura, Dr. Siak, Raul Parra and Ruben Montesco) "Technik" (Including remixes by Jauzas The Shining), "Remix Technik" (Including remixes by Jauzas The Shining and Crotaphytus), "Mekanik" and "Mekanik Remixes" (Including remixes by Elite!). In June 2008 Equitant's remix of Jonathann Cast's "Hurt Me" (featuring Drey) was released on the Futureclash 2 compilation by Advanced Synergy Records (Mexico) along side well known artists such as : Neon Electronics vs The Hacker, Lethargy, Dirty Princess, Nexus - 6, Terence Fixmer, Team Plastique and People Theatre.
